Coffee, cacao and cannabis are among the subjects of an art exhibition at Sacramento City Hall. Some paintings use pigments and inks made from plants; the show also includes ceramics, photography, printmaking and woodwork, according to the City’s announcement.

Curator Lorena Rodríguez’s Plantas de Poder: Kinships, Knowledges & Reclamation explores the histories and cultural ties behind seven plants. A book drawing on research by seven women in Colombia helped inspire it.

The exhibition runs through December 15 at the Robert T. Matsui Gallery, inside City Hall at 915 I St. Entry is free. The City lists regular Monday–Friday hours of 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and wheelchair access; holiday opening is unconfirmed.
