Proton Pass gives autofill an off switch for sites you choose

The October update adds finer control over where saved details appear, alongside folder-sharing limits.

Proton Pass can be told to leave a chosen web address alone. Its October update gives users more precise control over autofill: match one exact host, allow a parent domain and its subdomains, or prevent filling on a particular URL, according to Proton’s announcement.

Users can also choose which fields receive saved information. More advanced matching supports wildcards and regular expressions. Separately, Proton says its new compromised-password check runs on the device, without giving its staff access to vault passwords.

The same update adds folders, with a sharing boundary worth knowing. Folders inherit their vault’s permissions; independent folder sharing remains planned. Free and Pass Essentials accounts cannot create folders, although they can use folders inside a vault shared by a paid-plan user.
