Caleb Followill told the Associated Press that Kings of Leon changed the path of O My Beloved after he broke his foot playing with his children. Recovery put an acoustic guitar in his hands, and the album moved in a new direction. The band site gives November 6 as the release date.

The AP says the band dropped four or five electric-leaning songs for stripped-down work about family and gratitude. Followill told the AP the earlier songs lost that appeal once new material emerged.

The same site features My Whole World and Cold Blue Dawn.
