Discord is opening some public chats to the wider web
Web pages arrive November 16; some messages may enter search in mid-December.
Discord plans to place some public community chat on the open web, so outsiders can judge a server before joining. Only Discoverable Servers qualify: communities of at least 1,000 members already in Server Discovery, Discord says. Private servers, direct messages, and group direct messages stay out.
Starting November 16, 2026, each Discoverable Server gets a web page that may summarize channels open to everyone there. Discord says some messages may reach the pages and search in mid-December, following a delay of weeks. Admins can exclude channels, or all of them, under Server Settings, Web Presence; otherwise public channels stay on.
The post says members can hide their channel messages across Discoverable Servers with one Data and Privacy setting. Summaries from broader topics still appear unless an admin turns them off, and names and avatars stay off the pages.
