Carrie is preparing to go beyond the prom
Prime Video has renewed the series, with Mike Flanagan and Stephen King describing a longer story.

Carrie’s television story is set to continue beyond its familiar prom. Amazon confirms a second season for the Prime Video adaptation and reports that Mike Flanagan and Stephen King planned a story extending past that point. All eight first-season episodes are streaming.
Flanagan writes and runs the series, executive produces and directs four episodes. King also executive produces. In Amazon’s account, the longer path was mapped out from the outset; the renewal gives that plan another season. The company has not detailed a second-season premiere in this announcement.
Summer H. Howell plays Carrie. Amazon says a casting search brought in reads from more than 1,000 actors before she was selected, Amazon notes.
