Soulframe drops its invitation wall before its world gets an overhaul
PC players can join Open Preludes on November 6, while the next major progression update remains undated.

Soulframe is about to remove the wait for an invitation, but newcomers should not mistake the opening for its next big update. Digital Extremes has announced November 6 for Open Preludes on PC; the planned overhaul of progression in Midrath remains on a separate timetable.
How to join
The access announcement directs players to register on the Soulframe website and download its launcher once Open Preludes begins. The change removes an admission barrier: people who want to try the game will no longer have to wait for an invitation before beginning their adventure.
This is still a project being developed with player feedback. The studio describes the opening as its next milestone after 16 Preludes updates and wants more people to help shape the experience. It also offers Founders bundles for those who want to support development, while describing website registration as the route into the open phase.
What is already there
The Preludes 16 feature guide gives new arrivals a more concrete idea of what they can do. A pup selected during The Shewolf Snared can accompany the player. Training through combat encourages a guardian; exploring and treasure hunting develops a companion that helps find resources and hidden loot.
Fishing starts with collecting Doyen’s Spool from Grandfa’s hut. Weather also affects play: rain encourages organic resources, while lightning strengthens Voltaic Magick. These are existing features described for Preludes 16, rather than promises tied to the invitation change.
For company, Revive Shrines offer party matchmaking in the open world and dungeons. Equipment has its own progression: dismantling weapons teaches the Steelsinger about their Tempers, eventually allowing those properties to be applied to other weapons. New players have reasons to experiment with companions, groups and crafting while the larger world revision is still being prepared.
What comes later
The Devstream 18 overview leaves Preludes 17 without a firm date. It describes regions drained by Ode’n machinery: players complete Votives and destroy the machines to restore resources. Exploration remains open, but restoring the land becomes part of progression.
Votives will have a main objective, optional nearby Oaths and ratings based on how thoroughly players complete them. That gives the overhaul a different purpose from Open Preludes: changing the structure of activities, rather than who is allowed to enter.
The same update is meant to turn a trained wolf pup into an Omen Wolf mount, using a biscuit earned by clearing the Veilands. Training a companion is already available; riding the grown wolf belongs to the update still to come.
