Raw Power Games says it cannot keep developing Chronicles: Medieval without funding that is no longer in place. PC Gamer reports that the studio warned it risks closing, even as early access is within reach. That is a warning about its future, rather than confirmation it has shut.

The game’s Steam listing still shows a planned 2027 release. It describes an ambitious combination: commanding an army in real time while also drawing your own sword and fighting among hundreds of soldiers. Longbowmen, crossbowmen, infantry and cavalry are intended to respond to your orders while you remain in the battle.

Its setting is a sandbox version of Europe during the Hundred Years’ War. Players are meant to choose where to travel, which battles to fight and how to develop their character and forces. Those decisions shape the reputation of a soldier rising from obscurity.

The store page presents early access as a starting point for further content, features and modding support, with community feedback helping determine priorities. Those are development plans, not a completed game. The displayed 2027 window offers no assurance that work can continue.
