Rancho Cordova’s arena deal stretches city support across decades
Most of the incentives depend on construction and future revenue, with a groundbreaking timeline still to come.

Rancho Cordova’s approved Downtown Dova deal could reach $185 million in city incentives, Abridged by PBS KVIE reports. Most support for the proposed district, centered on a 7,500-seat arena, depends on construction and future revenue, the outlet reports.
The City Council approved the agreement in a 4–1 vote on November 2, 2026. The development is planned for 28 acres at Kilgore Road and Trade Center Drive.
Before construction, up to $3.7 million comes as waived permit fees. Another $13.5 million in development impact fees follows construction, Abridged reports.
The largest component stretches much further: the city describes $152.8 million in revenue sharing over 35 years, beginning when the site becomes active and drawing on taxes generated by the project.
If the development is abandoned before completion, its city fees must be repaid, according to Abridged. The city says the developer’s next step is to announce when groundbreaking will happen.
